IRINA KUZNETSOVA
Born in 1990 in Ridder (Eastern Kazakhstan), she studied monumental painting in Novosibirsk and contemporary graphics in Moscow, and currently lives and works in Almaty (Kazakhstan).
Starting her creative journey with classical techniques, Irina Kuznetsova transitioned to bold experiments in abstract graphics. After reinterpreting this experience, she turned to the traditional media of painting, such as tempera on gesso on wood, rediscovering figurative painting for herself. Irina also mixes various materials and techniques in graphics: acrylic, ink, spray, collage, experiments with surfaces and the composition of grounds to create textures, and uses fine pigments and complex paint mixtures. Her works contain encrypted mystical symbols and narratives, immersing the viewer in deep philosophical experiences. The multi-layered imagery of Irina's works brings her closer to the poetics of magical realism.
