Naissance de l’image

28.05.2017
Saint Petersburg, ARTMUZ

The exhibition of Irina Kuznetsova’s graphics 'Naissance de l’image' (from French, 'birth of the image') took place from May 23 to June 20 (the exhibition was later extended until August) at the Museum of Contemporary Art 'ARTMUZA' in Saint Petersburg. The opening occurred on May 28 at 17:00.

This cycle consists of 25 works, divided into 5 series, where each serves as a unique answer to the question of what lies at the foundation of creation and where its source is located. Color here acquires a very personal, authenticity-seeking resonance. And the voice of each shade, without diminishing its individuality, forms a strictly calibrated, yet instantly readable counterpoint. 'Naissance de l’image' is a multidimensional exploration of different entities: thought, color, line, spot, material in all its pliability and resistance, and ultimately the very delicate fabric of life, because with each painting the artist is reborn. All of them, gathered in a single space and the plane of paper, form a powerful polyphonic statement, for the perception of which only freedom of vision is required.
